Adventure Velez is a family business run by Peter and Maureen with the help of their professional support team, and daughter, Madeleine in the stunning Los Velez area of Almeria.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this special place during a holiday in southern Spain many years ago. It was love at first sight and we immediately set about making plans for a total lifestyle change. But our dream wasn't realised until August 2005.

Finding the right property and location coupled with packing up the life we had known in the north of England for 14 years wasn't easy. Then, we were leaving behind our families and friends and successful careers, Maureen in the newspaper industry and Peter in sales and manufacturing. Our friends and families kept saying we were brave, but we knew they really meant: "We were mad!" But our determination in knowing we were doing the right thing and wanting to "live the dream" kept us going.

Once in Spain the months of set-backs, backbreaking work and the red tape we encountered was well worth the end result - we know our home, Casa Aventura, is the perfect place for a truly memorable holiday. The Los Velez area is definitely "Far From The Madding Crowd"! It has charm, history, and breathtaking scenery in abundance, yet all the facilities you would expect in modern-day Spain.

We are still marvelling at the extent of the varied wildlife, flora and fauna. To watch eagles and vultures soaring overhead is a sight that still has us in awe. The Spanish community we have always found to be extremely friendly. We would have been lost without their continued help and support. Our neighbouring farmers often leave gifts of wine, fruit and vegetables on our doorstep. This particular area of Spain is still relatively unspoilt. Nevertheless, we have been fortunate enough to find an extensive portfolio of activities to complement our own.

Our guests are spoilt for choice, something different to do every day if they so wish. Our aim is to make your holiday such an enjoyable experience that you recommend us to your families and friends. We both have a wide experience of the holiday business. Maureen has worked for 35 years in the media and for a large corporate holiday company. Peter has off-road driving qualifications and a vast experience in this field. He is a qualified engineer, working for over 30 years in the motor, agricultural and heavy plant sectors.

Our concept is simple: The sun shines, the views are to die for, accommodation, food and hospitality first class, activities endless..in short a piece of holiday heaven!
